Natural gas is a kind of multi-component mixed gas, mainly composed of alkanes, in which methane accounts for 95%, with a small amount of ethane, propane and butane, in addition to hydrogen sulfide, carbon dioxide, nitrogen and water gas, and a small amount of inert gases such as helium and argon. Under standard conditions, methane to butane exist in a gaseous state and pentane in a liquid state.
